Gave me sketchy vibes, so I'm surprised to learn they were actually legit.
I actually came across EvoCapture1 while searching for capture card services and I assumed it was one of the scams I mentioned seeing in my search because every twitter post they made were full of comments of people asking them to respond to their DMs, or people worried about what happened to their 3DS handhelds they sent over half a year ago (couple people as far as a full year ago) only to have their comments unanswered in both cases.
Delfino Customs looks like the best bet with it's price and reliability. As I said in my original post, I already followed every FAQ I could find to fix the issue, only for nothing to work. Every instructions webpage and Youtube video guide I found all warned about it and provided links directly the same, correct version of every program I needed on their GitHub pages. Yes I used the correct version of Luma3DS.
Loopy's boards are considered to be superior in most aspects, namely due to the direct support (along with covered repairs in case of capture malfunction) and lack of unit-specific serial/license keys.
Optimize kits are the same ones that Katsukity/Keity used to install when they were around, so take that for what it's worth.
Loopy's installations (when available) are around $175USD Optimize installations vary depending on who is doing them. Also, certain installers like RubyOtaku and squirrelelectronics only focus on a specific model for example, those two currently only do capture card installations on Old 3DSXL units. The only one that I am aware of who regularly performed installations in N2DSXL units, for example, was Stefan Merki. PNG snapshots, or can be used simply as a display. Loopy Original 3DS w/ Capture Card - Firmware 9.2 Opens in a new window or tab. Audio can be recorded from the headphone jack, use a standard 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Optimize kits, which can be installed in basically any unit (New or Old) by people like EvoCapture1, Gonjona2, RubyOtaku, Delfino Customs, or squirrelelectronics some models (2DS and N2DSXL specifically) require custom routing of the wiring that most installers will not do. Nintendo DS USB Video Capture Board Compatible only with an original model DS (not DS Lite, DSi). Loopy's boards, but only for launch model Old 3DS systems (CTR-001) they are currently out of stock (and very possibly production, according to a recent post on this sub from Loopy) and Loopy is preparing a new model of board for New 3DS XL consoles.
You are correct that neither CFW solution can be used with any software that boots the system into DS mode, however.īelow is an excerpt regarding physical capture cards from the full breakdown of video output solutions for the 3DS that I compiled for r/3DS.Ĭapture card installations depend on which model you have, but there are basically another two options here: If audio isn't working (volume slider is disabled), you probably need to install the DirectX Runtime (Watch out for the Bing bar).In the event you were unaware, you need to use the custom 3GX loader edition of Luma3DS in order to do WiFi streaming the official release of Luma has been broken in regards to BootNTR/BootNTRSelector since at least version 10.2.1.
Software (last update 6 June 2021) Changelog You can use another program for recording or live streaming, but it needs to be one capable of doing screen capture (Camtasia, Fraps, XSplit, etc).
